In Cree…Ser Montessori, we support the individual development of children. We follow the Montessori philosophy. Who was Maria Montessori? In 1896, Maria Montessori broke barriers by becoming the first woman to graduate as a physician in Italy. This achievement not only shaped her life but also became the heart of her educational approach. Her medical training gave her a unique and revolutionary perspective: Montessori observed child development from a scientific foundation, considering both the physical and emotional needs of children, and developed a method that prioritized respect and autonomy for each one.
How did her medical career influence her educational philosophy?
- Deep understanding of child development: Montessori integrated her knowledge of anatomy, psychology, and neurodevelopment, comprehensively understanding the child and recognizing their potential at each stage of growth.
- Practical and sensory education: Inspired by her medical studies, Montessori promoted practical and sensory learning, providing materials that allow children to learn by touching, exploring, and discovering.
